Another Camberwell Home Renovation Revival and Extension by Lifestyle By Design

An original, semi-detached 1940’s home with only two bedrooms and one bathroom is being transformed as we speak, by Lifestyle By Design’s team of professionals. Flanked by Anniversary Trail Parklands, either side, and tucked away at the end of a battleaxe driveway, the red brick home, that oozes charismatic charm and character is being preserved at the front, and extended at the back with a sprawling two storey extension. As it’s set on a 428sqare block area, and close to the Maling Road precinct, every enhancing detail of the build will bring enormous value-adding benefits to this young family in Warburton Road. A touch of modernisation will also be added by rendering all brickworks, and Sycon cladding will feature on the first floor extension.
Architects, Elements of Homes, have again entrusted us to work closely with them, as we expand the residence to three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and create a rejuvenated kitchen with a large butler’s pantry, and open plan living areas that will flow out through stacker sliding doors to a brand new paved alfresco. The rear ground floor ceiling height will reach for the sky at 3.1 metres, and the existing two front bedrooms will morph into one Master with a WIR and Ensuite. And what makes this project even more exciting is that we’re extending the house forwards, outwards, backwards, and up – with double glazed windows, lots of energy-efficient LED downlights, and skylights to boot!
The upper floor will feature two new bedrooms, a bathroom, a rumpus room and a balcony to capitalise on the ambient natural views, and there’ll be an open double carport, timber flooring throughout both levels, and custom cabinetry with 2pak surfaces and Caesarstone benchtops.
We always love a bit of a challenge at Lifestyle By Design, and this Home Extension and Renovation in Camberwell is no exception. The narrow driveway will present some access restrictions, whilst part of the build must be sympathetic to a prevailing structural wall that is shared with the home next door. There will also be some re-configuring of the shared roofline, using new roof tiles, to allow for a new front verandah and timber decking area. A Mud Room will serve as a dual-purpose entrance, and a separate front door to the major living areas will add style and functionality. Where possible, we’ll also be preserving the heating and airconditioning of old, and supplementing it with some new units.
Whilst little of the original house will look the same, one thing is for certain. The owners will soon be enjoying lots of lovely new space, a fresh outdoor entertainment area, and the ability to work out an amenable landscaping design once they have settled in.
