The developers of this project were disappointed to find that their original builder reneged on their contract and let them down, so Lifestyle By Design came to the rescue, and now this sparkling new Dual Occupancy is ready to go under the hammer and become the home sweet home to two new owners, before the old fella in the red suit comes down the chimney!
The bulldozers took care of the 1950’s original dwelling, and construction of this High-End, Dual Occupancy began with gusto on a mildly sloping block that necessitated a suspended slab, on a narrow, but deep 600 metre square property. As always, it was out with the old and in with the new, but, with this one, the transformation has been extraordinary. A Modern Contemporary, two storey design now faces the street, with two new residences, side-by-side. The ground floors, in each, feature a front, single garage with a tilt panel door, a chique new Master Bedroom with heated towel rails, a plush open plan kitchen/dining/sitting area, and they both come finished with a timber deck, and feature framework (that can be adapted to an alfresco in future). Beneath the deck is an eco-efficient 6000 litre rainwater tank system making the dual properties non-dependent on stormwater drainage, as the water storage will be recirculated to serve the easy-care landscaping and toilet flushing systems.
A special feature of this couple of beauties is the design appeal of making the two homes very similar, but different. One has a garage frontage in black brick, whilst the other is adorned with Spotted Gum Timber. The kitchen and living areas cater for two types of families also, as one has a larger kitchen space and a Butler’s Pantry, whilst the other may be more suited to an older couple who need less preparation area and an island counter, but who still yearn for the glorious view that flows through the rear glass doors to the back yard.
Each home has a generous Master and Ensuite on both floors, with built in robes, three other generous bedrooms upstairs, and a sitting area retreat with a bounty of closet spaces. The Architectural Designers of the project, Petridis Architects, specified a contemporary black and white kitchen, constituted marble benchtops, square set plaster, and an abundance of other grand features – such as the custom-made 1200 wide Solid Spotted Gum front doors mounted on pivot hinges.
